The Bravo SOPMOD Stock from B5 systems has its roots set in the original enhanced SOPMOD stock from B5.
This stock is designed to be installed on a AR-15 mil-spec diameter carbine buffer tube (receiver extension). This stock can be easily adjusted to different lengths of pull. This can be done by depressing the locking release lever, located on the bottom portion of the stock. The Bravo SOPMOD stock includes a rubberized butt pad. This pad can help to mitigate impact forces. This rubber pad can also increase traction, which will help to prevent slippage on your shoulder when firing. The stock has an integrated QD sling cup that will accept standard QD sling swivels on both the left and right side of the stock. The stock is primarily made from a high-grade, impact resistant polymer that is extremely durable but still maintains a light overall weight.
Difference from Enhanced Stock
One of the main differences between the enhanced stock and this Bravo stock is that the Bravo stock does not feature the dual battery storage tubes found on the Enhanced SOPMOD stock. Although the storage tubes are a nice feature to have, many users do not need the additional storage space to store batteries. Also, by forgoing these storage tubes the Bravo stock is able to come lighter and more streamlined than the larger enhanced SOPMOD stock. Also, due to the easier manufacturing process, the Bravo stock is also significantly less expensive that than the B5 enhanced stock.
The Bravo SOPMOD stock is a very high quality stock that is built to very tight tolerances. This makes for a proper fit when installing it onto your mil-spec carbine receiver extension (buffer tube). The Bravo stock offers a snug fit that allows it to be easily adjusted when altering the length of pull. However, the fit is tight enough to minimize any wobble.
Although the B5 Systems Bravo SOPMOD stock does have some significant differences from the original Enhanced SOPMOD, it does retain some of the general elements. For instance, although the Bravo stock does not have the dual battery storage compartments, it does still offer an enhanced cheek weld surface. The cheek weld surface is not quite as broad as seen on the Enhanced stock, however, there is still a very wide and comfortable position for you to get a comfortable cheek weld. This enhanced comfort and large surface also make for a very repeatable cheek weld position, which can help you get your sights on target quicker.
