The larger main tube helps to allow more light to travel through the scope. This makes for a brighter picture and stronger tube. The turrets are large and easy to grasp. However, the turrets are low profile enough to no interfere with your mounting options. You do have sufficient space on the main tube to slides you scope slightly forward and back, as needed to ensure that you get a sufficient eye relief.
You are also able to easily lock them in place to ensure that you do not look your setting. The turrets are locked when they are in the down position. When in the down position, you cannot turn the turrets at all, thereby preserving their current setting. To adjust you setting, you just need to pull up on the turret to unlock. Due to the size and design of the turrets, they are easy to grab and adjust from locked to unlocked.
The turrets can be easily re-zeroed one you have properly sighted in your rifle. This is a very convenient feature that Bushnell has included in this scope. To unscrew the turrets, Bushnell used a coin slot screw. This slot allows you to use an assortment of different instruments to disengage the screw. You can use a slotted screw driver, quarter, penny, or even the rim or a cartridge.
