The Fortis REV is a Free-Floating Rail system or your AR-15 that combines KeyMod & Picatinny mounting space in a lightweight design. The REV utilizes a standard AR-15/M16 barrel nut so that no proprietary equipment is needed for installation.
For Fortis REV 12 comes in a a very light 9.2 ounces. The designers at Fortis Manufacturing made weigh savings a top priority for this rail system and this is seen in several of the design elements. This rail system has KeyMod, negative space mounting slots at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions of the rail. This negative space mounting solution allows for the removal of material, thereby saving weight. Additionally, the REV has several lightening cuts between the KeyMod & Picatinny rail sections.
Material selection was also given consideration. Fortis went with a high grade, 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. The grade of aluminum is very strong while also remaining light weight.
Multiple Mounting Solutions
The Fortis REV gives you access to both Picatinny and KeyMod mounting platforms. The REV rail has a full-length Picatinny rail section at the 12 and 6 o’clock position on the rail. Additionally, the REV has smaller Picatinny section at the forward section of the 3 and 9 o’clock position. These Picatinny rail sections are perform for mounting back-up iron sights, lights, lasers, vertical fore grips, etc. At the 3 and 9 o’clock, the Fortis REV 12 has sections of KeyMod accessory mounting slots.
When the engineers are Fortis developed this rail, they packed several useful features into its design. For instance, the REV has integrated QD sling swivel sockets. There are four separate QD compatible sockets integrated into this rail system. They can be found at the forward and rear section of both the 3 and 9 o’clock rails.
Hassel Free Mounting
The mounting system used by the REV rail utilizes a standard AR-15 barrel nut. This makes installation easier and make it so that you are not required to remove your standard barrel nut. The mounting system uses a clamp via a removable section on the bottom of the Fortis rail.
The REV 12 was designed to be mounted on a standard AR-15 upper receiver. The REV has anti-rotation tab integrated in it’s design. These anti-rotation tabs ensure that your rail stays properly aligned with your upper receiver.
