The Magpul MOE polymer handguards are an excellent addition to any AR-15 rifle.  The MOE handguards are available for a great price and have a lot of useful features.  One of the primary features of the MOE handguard is the Magpul MOE accessory mounting slots.


The MOE accessory mounting slots give you a lot of advantages.  The most obvious advantage is that the MOE slots allow you to mount accessories, such as MOE direct attach accessories, or you can mount a Picatinny rail section, such as this.  The Picatinny rail section will then allow you to mount any compatible Picatinny mounted accessory.


This MOE Picatinny rail section is formed from polymer, like many of Magpul’s other products.  This polymer is a reinforced composite material.  It was specifically developed for enhanced strength and durability.  Also, since it is a polymer component, it is also extremely light in weight.  Magpul has also made special consideration to make this part as convenient to use as possible.  The corners of the Picatinny rail section have been beveled.  This helps to reduce snagging and preventing injury to you.


The rail section comes with the hardware necessary to mount the rail to the mounting slots on your MOE handguard or forend.
