Overview of the AmeriGlo Hackathorn Sights
The Hackathorn sights were originally developed by Ken Hackathorn. Ken is one of the better known firearms and tactical trainers in the world and is frequently associated with Larry Vickers. These sights were made for a concealed carry handgun and are ideal for use in a defensive situation
The front sight in this sight set is the real money maker. The front sight is a AmeriGlo ProGlo model. This model front sight has a tritium insert. The tritium is a radioactive material that glows. This allows you to have an aiming reference during low light situations. In addition to the tritium insert, the front sight also has a painted on bright orange outline around the tritium insert. This orange outline is very bright and is designed to allow you to quickly pick up the front sight in a stressful situation.
The rear sight on this sight set is blacked out with a standard cut notch. By blacking out the rear sight, you focus is able to be fully diverted to the front sight, where it should be. The back portion of the rear sight is serrated. The serrations are there to minimize the potential for glare having a negative affect on your vision
