Overview of the Fortis Rev II 14” AR-15 HandGuard
The Fortis Rev II is a lightweight modular handguard that has several advanced features. This handguard is KeyMod compatible which gives the user several options.
The Rev 2 handguard is designed to be installed on a standard AR-15 upper receiver. The rail has anti-rotation tabs that fit on either side of your upper receiver to ensure that the rail system is properly timed to your rifle and does not rotate during use. Due to these rotation tabs, this handguard may not be compatible with non-mil-spec designed upper receivers.
The Fortis KeyMod rail installs on a standard AR-15 barrel nut. This makes installation simple and easy. It also saves you money from otherwise having to purchase a proprietary barrel nut.
This rail system only contacts the barrel nut and does not come into direct contact with the barrel. This makes the rail free floating. A free floating handguard is desirable for several reasons. The main reason why free floating handguards are desired is that they allow your AR-15 to maintain it’s maximal accuracy potential. By free floating the barrel, your barrel is less likely to have atypical stress placed on it, which would otherwise lead to a degradation in accuracy.
This AR-15 KeyMod HandGuard has several QD sling swivel cups machined directly into the rail. There are two QD sockets on each side of the rail, giving you a great amount of flexibility when deciding how and where to run your QD sling. These QD sockets are anti-rotational, which prevents your sling from becoming tangled.
The Fortis Rev-II-14 is KeyMod compatible. It has KeyMod accessory mounting slots located at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock on the rail.
