Knight’s Armament is one of the top names in the industry when it comes to AR-15’s and AR-15 accessories. Most of their products are developed for military contracts. However, some of their more successful products are marketed to the civilian sector.
The KAC URX-4 rail system is an example of Knight’s Armament’s commitment to at the top of the industry. When the demands of the market have shifted, KAC develops a new product to fill that new need. The URX-4 is KAC’s first plunge into the KeyMod realm and they have developed one of, if not the best KeyMod system on the market today. The URX-4 is KAC’s most stable hand guard system to day, due, in part, to it’s one-piece construction.
One of the most unique aspects of the KAC URX-4 is the manner in which it attaches to upper receiver. The URX-4 has an integrated barrel nut, which is machined directly into the hand guard. This differs from the norm, as most AR-15 hand guards have two separate pieces, a barrel nut and a hand guard that clamps on to that barrel nut. KAC calls this single piece unit, their Integrated Barrel Nut (IBN) attachment system. This has the benefit of creating a lightweight and extremely rigid platform.
This KeyMod Hand Guard is 10.0” in length and has a weight of 10.08 ounces
