The Magpul PMAG 20LR is designed to be compatible with many of the large-frame AR style rifles chambered in .308/7.62x51mm. This magazine is made from the same durable and battle proven material as the AR-15 line of PMAGs. The anti-tilt follow and rugged construction of the PMAG 20LR ensures that it will give you a long and reliable service life.
One of the novel features about this PMAG is that it is available in Magpul’s new sand color. The sand color is a very light color that actually came about due to a change in the company’s polymer formulation. In the development of trying new and improved polymer formula, the company stumbled upon this particular type of polymer. The polymer was significantly stronger than the previous formula and also happened to have a light color.
The color of the sand PMAGs is more than just another color. The sand color is deliberately light in nature. This is because Magpul wanted to allow users to modify the color of the magazine. The combination of the light color of the polymer and also it’s porous properties allow the sand PMAG 20LR to be receptive to water based dies, such as the widely available Rit Dye. This is a dye that is easy to use and can commonly be found at your local Walmart. With minimal effort you can dye your sand PMAG to any of several different colors. Also, for those looking for more of a challenge there are also techniques to allow you to put a camouflage type multi-color pattern on your sand PMAG.
The Magpul M3 PMAG 20LR was designed for optimal reliability when using the .308/7.62x51mm cartridge. This magazine can be used by a wide range of rifle. This list of rifle includes, but is not limited to the new Armalite AR-10A, Bushmaster .308 ORC, Colt LE901-16S, CORE Rifle Systems CORE30, DPMS LR308, JP Enterprises LRP-07, KAC SR25, LaRue OBR, Les Baer .308, LMT .308 MWS, LWRCI REPR, Mega Arms MATEN, POF P-308, Remington R-25, Ruger SR-762, S&W M&P10, SIG716, and others. Although this magazine is widely accepted, please note that there are some large-frame AR style rifles that are not able to accept the Magpul PMAG. Optimized for Reliability
Magpul is well know to produce durable products that work in even the harshest of conditions. The engineers started designing this magazine by choosing a worthy material. The polymer used in this magazine is a next generation polymer. The polymer is impact and crush resistant to ensure that it can put up with hard use. The shape of the magazine was given special consideration. The magazine body sports a constant curve. This allows for smooth and uninterrupted feeding to your rifle. The follower used in the sand PMAG 20LR is formed from polymer. The follower has an anti-tilt design and also has self-lubricating properties. These self-lubricating properties allow for increased reliability even during periods of a lapse in maintenance. Stainless steel was the material choose from the magazine spring. This stainless steel is extremely corrosion resistant and provides an firm, upward pressure against the follower for consistent feeding and bolt lock-back.
This PMAG sports many of the upgrade seen in the M3 series of PMAGs. This includes a slim line base plate that is easy to remove. Also, at the base of the magazine body, Magpul has incorporated their paint pen marking matrix. This allows for easy marking of your magazines for identification and tracking purposes. The M2 PMAG 20LR also comes with an included dust cover. This dust cover helps to keep debris from entering your magazine when not in use, and is also useful for extended storage.
