The Nikon P-223 4-12x40mm Rifle Scope was designed to give you AR-15 long range and precision shooing capabilities. This scope has all of the necessary features to let you are your AR-15 reach out to far distances and get hits.
BDC 600 Reticle
One of the ways this scope enhances your shooting abilities is by providing you with a bullet drop compensation reticle. What this means is that once you have your rifle and scope zeroed, the scope has different indicators or stadia that indicate the proper hold-over mark to let you engage targets are various distances. What this means to you as a shooter is that, instead of having to dial in your elevation setting, you can simple swap to a different crosshair on your reticle. They method is much faster and will allow you to engage multiple targets at varied distances at a greatly increased speed.
The BDC 600 reticle was designed to coincide with the trajectory of a .223 Remington / 5.56x45mm NATO 55-grain polymer tipped bullet having a muzzle velocity of 3,240 fps. The reticle will give you aiming points from 100 all the way out to 600 yards. The primary cross hair is designed for you to use as your 100 yard zero. The circles underneath the crosshair indicate your 200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 yard aiming points respectively. The hash marks indicate 50 yard increments.
The Nikon P-223 comes standard with Rapid Action Turrets. These windage and elevation turrets allow you to adjust your point of aim in ¼ MOA increments. This degree of precision allows you to very finely adjust your point of aim to ensure that you get your zero exactly where you want it. The turrets has a very positive click to indicate when you have fully engage the next position. This gives you both a tactile and audible confirmation that your settings are as you intend them to be. The positive locking detents also ensure that your setting stay consistent, even under repeated recoil and rugged conditions.
The lenses used in the Nikon P-223 are designed to give you the most crisp and bright image as possible. This allows for a high resolution image through your lens, even when shooting in lower light situations, such as near dusk or dawn. This is in part made possible by the multi layer coating used on every lens. Every lens in the Nikon P-223 has multiple layers of anti-reflective compounds.
