The Troy M7A1 PDW stock was designed to make your AR-15 in a tight and compact package while still giving you a fully functional stock. The Troy M7A1 Kit is also much more than just a stock system and also includes some internal components.
The main benefit of the Troy PDW stock is that it allows you to decrease the overall length of your rifle. This can be advantageous for scenarios where you want to keep a low profile, such as in executive protection, or if you want your AR-15 to be more compact for storage or easier to maneuver in tight spaces, such as moving in and out of cars.
The engineers at Troy were able to drastically reduce the length of this stock by instituting some interesting changes to the AR-15. The shortened receiver extension tube was able to be designed as such due to the proprietary bolt carrier group. This kit comes complete with an action spring, as well as a buffer and bolt carrier group. The bolt carrier group used with this stock is proprietary. The BCG is fused with the buffer system, making them one piece, as opposed to the standard AR-15 setup. By combining these components, the stock system was able to reduce the length of the system by 3 inches when compared to normal AR-15 carbine stocks.
The stock was built with a heavy duty latch assembly that was designed to be durable enough for hard use. The latch can be easily accessed by either hand for left or right handed shooters. The stock system is held in place by rods. These rods allow for full use of all features on your standard AR-15 lower receiver, even with gloved hands.
The stock has 6 different positions for you to select your preferable length of pull. The stock also has built-in sling mounts to allow you to easily sling your PDW in a discrete fashion.
This stock system was designed to be installed on a standard AR-15 lower receiver. The included bolt carrier group is compatible with a standard direct impingement AR-15 gas system. This kit will not operate with a gas piston driven AR-15.
