The Main advantage of the TruGlo TFX Glock sights is that they provide you with a continuously glowing sight picture, regardless of the lighting conditions. Due to the unique combination of tritium and a fiber optic, your sight will be glowing in all situations.
Tritium is a self-luminous material that is used to make your sight, essentially glow in the dark. Tritium does not rely on having to be “charged” by daylight or and external power source. It will continuously glow and has a half life of approximately 12 years. In order to provide a glowing sight in daylight conditions, the TFX takes advantage of fiber optics. The fiber optic gathers existing light ad focuses it to the end of the fiber, giving you a bright green glowing dot.
The glow of the TFX sights make them fast to pick-up in any lighting situation. To further enhance sight acquisition, TruGlo has integrated their Focus Lock ring into the front sight. This right is a highly visible ring that surrounds the fiber optic of the front sight. This helps to differentiate the front sight and aids in faster sight acquisition in low light situations.
The TruGlo Glock TFX sight was made to be a defensive use pistol sight. With this in mind, the designers at TruGlo made sure that this sight would be robust enough to handle the job. The sight is CNC machined from a durable steel that is able to withstand hard use. To minimize the chance of the fiber-optic or tritium vial from being disturbed, the TFX capsule is hermetically sealed. This provides protection from the elements and various bits of debris, including oil, chemical & cleaning solvents.
