XS Sight Systems is known for their innovative take on iron sights. Through rigorous testing and feedback for real world end-users, they developed the Big Dot & V-Notch sight picture. This sight picture is easy and fast to acquire allow you to get off effective shots as quickly as possible
These offset mounted sights are perfect for a secondary set of sights. When mounted to the handguard of your AR-15, they allow you to rapidly transition to them from your primary optic.
The front sight has an integrated tritium insert. This tritium insert is self-lighting, meaning that you have an excellent aiming reference in low light situation. The tritium in the front sight provides it’s own light. There is no need to rely on batteries, charging the tritium or anything else. It is good to go and highly reliable in virtually situations.
The idea behind offset sights is that they are an independent secondary set of sights. Prior to offset sights, the trend was to mount both your iron sights and primary optic on the main, 12 o’clock Picatinny rail. Then, on the occasion that your primary optic was inoperable, you could transition to the iron sights. However, this old school set up does have some limitations that are not repeated with offset sights. For instance, if your primary optic has shattered glass, you would not be able to look through it to use your iron sights. Also, if you have a magnified optic and need to take a close range shot, these offset iron sights will be much more effective at close range.
